IF you had the confidence to say anythign to anyone - what would it be and why?

To my Father,"Even though we couldn't agree on anything,I still love you.I understand now that you were just doing the best you could do.There's no owners manual for being a Father.I'm sorry."
Unfortunately,my Father passed away six years ago.I wish I could have said this to him.

Right now... after looking at your picture holding the guitar and noticing how much it resembles a picture of me holding a guitar so many years ago....If I could, I would say to you.....
Enjoy life. Enjoy to the fullest the gifts that were granted to you. Never stop learning, never stop searching, never be satisfied with what you already know.
Be happy. Be happy with those around you, and never hold close those that bring you pain or aggravation. Your to never allow anyone to use you as their whipping post.
Write. Write what you feel and write what you think. Find the words to describe the sunset or the ocean or the tree in your back yard as no other person ever has. Make those words yours. so that they will live in you memory forever.
Play music. Play the music that you feel in your heart. Make the notes swim and swirl and end in a timeless melody that people will hum to themselves everytime they feel good about life.

I would tell those ghosts in my closet that I'm a sorry I failed to be there when they needed my input the most... I'd give the reasons but would not treat them as excuses... When I could have made the difference in their lives, I simply failed to act in a timely fashion, fearful of my own capabilities to effectively lend counsel & help them in their remediations. I'd tel them that I know better now... that I don't need to be a Mr. Fix-It... Just a good listener & friend.
