There is no cure, only treatment of it. The most common treatment is a laproscopy, which is where they insert a laser into your stomach and look around and burn off all of the endo growths. I have had three of those in the past 5 years. For some people oral contraceptive works great, while others need a shot of Depo Lupron. That is a shot that sends you into menopause for a given amount of time. But in reality, it all depends on the woman. What might work for me might not work for you. Like I absolutely cannot go on the pill because it makes the pain worse because of the estrogen in it. The regular birth control shot didn't do anything, while the patch seemed to calm it down a little. The main thing that worked for me though was the Lupron shot. But all of these for me worked only for a little while and then the pain started up again. And hopefully for you, you wll find something that works for years to come. Oh and FYI: Pregnancy does not cure endo, but for some women it lessons the pain for at least the 9 months. Some for longer. :)

I had 5 laps, tried all of the medicines, one after the other. My cure - a total hysterectomy in 1985. Of course, things have progressed to the 21st century now but I don't regret my choice.

You don't say how old you are so I don't know if you've had children or want children. When I first got diagnosed my doc. lazered it off but told me it would only last a couple of years. Then I had to have a complete historectomy. I was 39 so i had already had my children. There is no cure-only treatment

my mom and a several ladies i know have endemetriosis... One of the best things for it is if you are able to get pregnant and carry a child to term - there is something about the process that thins out the uterus wall thus making your endemetrial pain less and might even reverse the complications altogether.
