yes i totally agree with u. years ago, u could go out and leave your door open with no fear of being robbed. crime was alot less. nowadays, u daren't take your eye off anything cos someone will steal it. the world is getting worse and not better. years ago, there was no ADHD etc, now nearly all kids seem to have it. i think it is just an excuse for a badly behaved and disruptive child. years ago, if u did something wrong, u got a thick ear and u apologized, now, kids get away with everything, are much more spoiled and are extremely mouthy. the way they talk to their elders is disgraceful and would never have been stood for years ago. i think there are lessons to be learned from times gone past. kids can play up and do wot they want at school nowadays, they know the teacher is not allowed to hurt them, years ago, they would have got a caning for their appauling behaviour. i really think alot of kids need a good caning nowadays.
dont get me wrong, i do not agree with child abuse, but there needs to be alot more disiplin. all the do-gooders in the world are ruining it. like people who want to get smacking banned, that is totally rediculous! alot of kids these days could do with a good clout.
i feel sorry for teachers these days, the kids dont respect authority anymore and they can get away with it and they know it. i despair of the world today and its just getting worse with each generation. kids today expect so much and dont even appreciate wot they do have. they take so much for granted now. years ago, u would not back answer your parents, now i hear kids telling their parents to f*** of and shut up and everything. there is less and less disiplin now and kids are getting out of control. its terrible. i sometimes wonder if i am the only person who can see wot is happening. people need to see the bigger picture.

I feel that a large proportion of the anti-social behaviour problems in children are contributed to by the home environment. However some children do suffer such difficulties despite supportive, caring homes where there are boundaries in place. As to dealing with the behaviour, it is difficult when the child's parents/carers are not consistent. It can be an uphill battle.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. A lot of parents don't know how to deal with their children or don't discipline them. I think more parent involvement and punishments would help. Kids have to learn it somehow.

Totally agree, alot come from disruptive households and its also a bonus when the parents can claim more money. Sorry, do not mean to offend anyone but i do know of cases where its money.
It seems to me that parents need re-educating where bringing u their children is concerned. Half of them have no time or just don't care

The problem is with the parents, thier lifestyle and parenting technique, even though it shows up in the children. Parents that use the tv as a baby-sitter and are emotionially unpredictable as well as short on sleep and resources raise children with these 'symptoms'. The 'correction methods' should be things that hold the childs interest, things that make them want to learn.
Drugs in my opinion are not an answer at all. Teachers want ADD kids on drugs because the teachers are over-worked and it makes thier job easier...these drugs are not in the best interest of the child at all, in my opinion.

No... my child has adhd and I am a very supportive and caring parent - I am involved in all aspects of her education, her interests, and spend time making dinners and breakfasts and family time. Priority #1 is my child and my child's well being.
adhd is not a result of an unsupport/absent/uncaring parent but a genetic makeup of the person.

Yes, parents are influential to a child's upbringing and parents help children to decipher right from wrong...More supportive and caring parents will help to reduce these so called "diseases" like adhd and add, but the diseases could be attributed to an "error" in the child's brain when they were born.

The problem is that there is too much freedom.Too much choice.Antisocial behaviour is down to long leashes on unfocused individuals. There should be more work based learning through education with for example:Work Experience. There should be a handover to another organisation/company/Navy/etc.

Certainly part of it is the parents. But in a few experiences I had in raising children, the classes might have worked better if the teachers had been medicated.
