tony stewart is right, carl edwards finished 3rd last year but he was NOT a rookie. he ran too many races in 2004 to be considered a rookie. and davey allison did NOT win 3 races in his rookie year, he won 2. tony stewart and jimmie johnson are the only 2 drivers to win 3 races as rookies. earnhardt jr. won 2 points races plus the winston

Tony Stewart won 3 races in 1999 as a rookie...Davey Allison was 3 races in 1989 as a rookie...Jamie McMurry won a race in 2002 before being a rookie...Denny Hamlin won in 2006 at Pocono as a rookie...Points wise, Tony Stewart finished 5th in 1999 as a rookie. Dale Earnhardt won in 1979 as a rookie and went on to take the championship in his second year in 1980
