Ok for those people who are in relationships,
you say you're supposed to be loved by your significant other for who you are, right (Physical imperfections, cognitive issues, whatever have you)?
So , why do you try to fix yourself up when you're about to get together to do whatever it is that you do with your significant other?
(i.e. shaving when about to have sex...)
People are real hypocrites. I'm interested to see the kind of answers I'm gonna get for this question... Do tell...

I'm not talking about not showering, or personal hygiene. Just the little things. Like unkempt people. Not DIRTY, Eww, lol.

Doing those "little things" for your significant other shows that you care about how they see you, plus it also gives you a boost of self confidence.

I know when I have a date that I'm looking forward to, I might go out and buy a new tie or shirt, or get a haircut just to make myself feel more confident and relaxed. Not that I don't always try and look my best, but it matters to me how someone see's me. Alot of it might have to do with insecurity.

My hubby and I accept one anothers imperfections etc. but shaving and bathing goes under hygiene..that's a little different.
I don't mind that my husband has put on some weight and lost his hair but if he stopped cleaning himself I wouldn't like it..it's gross/unhealthy and it is also a sign that one has given up on onesself and you can't have respect for a person that has no self respect. The things that we can't help about ourselves are one thing but not putting forward any effort toward being attractive to one another is completely different.

Caring enough to take care of yourself and look good and smell good for your partner is part of who we are. Lets face it, unless you are pretending to be someone your not then you have always done these things so there for it isn't like your changing who you are. Am I going to love my wife any less because she didn't shave before we had sex no...am I going to change how I feel about her if she never shaves again, probably. That is because not shaving would not be who she really is.

Well there's a difference between loving them for who they are and getting a pube stuck in your teeth when you're downtown..I don't know about you, but I don't particularly get turned on by hair in my mouth.....and then there is just something about havin my man run his hand up my body and NOT getting snagged on hairy legs...I mean...are you serious with this question? I'd have to say, bottom line...its self respect and a lil vanity I suppose.

first of all,do you think that your signficant other would want to be around a woman that doesn,t take the time to fix her self up? that would be part of the reason why he is even more attracted to you. but, if you feel as though you are justified by not fixing your self up then don,t look for us to answer you question on why your boyfriend left you. now you go and try to look that up since you think you are smart enough to ask a dum question..........

WHen I get all dolled up its not for the other person. I like to look my best for myself. Its an added bones when my hubby thinks I look hot for the night. He loves me no matter how I look. But that is a very good question.
