what do i do in this situation??? several other people told her same thing. she got defensive. Eventually, we realized that she had disappeared when we werent looking. Saturday morning, we noticed a large scratch/dent on the side of her car - now that she's sober, we have proof, BUT, it's too late, now!

We all know that when we drink we tend to be very defensive and act stupid. So even if she ever gives you an attitude or you come across another situation like this then take the keys from them and or disconnect the cars battery, they won't have enough motor skills to try and put it back.

go out your way to help, better be safe then sorry. If something would of happened to her, at this moment you would of been wishing you could have done anything even if she gets mad and doesn't want to speak to you again. she will realize that you are a great friend and that you are concerned and trying to safe her and other people on the roads life.

great for you!!!!!!!!!!

Let them get defensive, offensive or just plain mad but don't let them drive! The only person that didn't realize she was too drunk was herself. If this was a good friend she would have thanked you in the morning for saving her from stupidity that night. If it was someone you didn't know..you'll probably never see them again and if you do..will they even remember?
You also have the option of calling the police (which most people don't do) before it becomes a problem. The way I look at it it's better to call them before it's a problem than having them show up after the fact at an accident where a life is lost.
This is a great moral issue that many people face young or old.
A friend alive because you held your ground is better than one in the ground.

It is all about prevention. When a person is drunk their sense of reason deminishes. Some drunk people don't think their drunk and the feel like they can do no wrong.

The best way to handle this situation is to be organized before the party and take everyone's keys when the party starts. When it is time to go home someone sober needs to check each person out and if they are too drunk to drive, simply encourage them to sleep it off or take a cab home. Just don't give them their keys until they are sober.

Lets put it this way.... either you will save another passerby, and you get to live a whole life in peace.... or you let her run over someone, and blame urself for the rest of ur life. What would it be? Don't wait for another dent on her car, buddy.... and tell ur friend if she's not mature enuff to understand, she's a menace to the society.

Next time request to drive them home....to get their keys....
Then call the authorities, on what's available in your area, in regard to transportation for drunk drivers.
Then it doesnt matter how agrressive anyone gets. It puts the responsibility in the hands of authorities. And NO ONE gets hurt. + You can feel good about yourself from possibly saving a life!

Just take their keys and drive them home. You can't argue with someone who's drunk - they aren't rational at the time. The life you save could be someone you care about!

Well i know a girl who stole her drunk boyfriends keys, waited till he was a little less drunk and drove him home herself. That is what i think you should do. take it easy on them, gradually convince them to give you(or just steal) their keys, then drive them home. Good luck in the future! :-)

thats their fault ... If you are a responsible party giver then you have a person that takes the keys at the begining of the party....Those that are going to be a pain and do not want to give them up, then you don't let them drink

If you have a party I would say no drinking if you don't give your keys to me or you have someone to drive you home. You can be responsible for their accidents. Be a responsible party giver.
