Just taking care of yourself, eating properly, getting enough protein, avoiding alcohol, smoking, drugs and a lot of over the counter drugs, and not bouncing down the stairs or anything of that sort.

If you smoke...stop. If you drink...stop. If you are taking medications for any illnesses...ask your doctor. If your doing illegal drugs...stop. There are over-the-counter prenatal vitamins, but it's best for you to consult with your doctor first before starting any vitamin regime. Don't do any heavy lifting. And if you exercise make sure you take it easy. Don't over do it. Be patient... July 27th is not too far away. If anything feels wrong your body will let you know. Just make sure to listen to it. Your best alternative is to wait for your first appointment with your doctor. In the meantime any questions you have you should write down and ask your doctor when you see him/her.

If you can't go see a doctor until july 27th, try goin to the heath department. take prenatal vitamins, the folic acid in them help the baby alot. If you have a neg. blood type and they babys' daddy has a pos. blood type get tested for the rh neg. factor, it could prevent alot of problems. If you do have the rh neg. factor, you will have to get a shot for it. If you smoke, STOP, eat healthy, and if you drink alot of caffine, cut back. Cramping is usually normal. You may have very tender breast, but don't worry that's normal. Excersise, but don't do crunches and jumpin' jacks, things like that. Do the normal things you usually do, unless the doctor tells you not to. Hope these things help.

Eat well, avoid foods that are pregnancy no-nos such as raw food (ex. sushi), alcohol, caffeinated drinks, and no smoking as well. Take your vitamins if you don't have prenatal vitamins, regular multivitamins with folic acid will do fine (you can get a prescription for prenatal vitamins at your doctor's office when you go in). Exercise is always good - nothing too strenous, walking is great. Get plenty of sleep.
Enjoy your pregnancy!

u have to wait to see the doctor to get prenatal vitamins. thay are a presription. and the doctor has to give it to u cause there are a few kinds of prenatal vitamins he has to see if u need iron or what not. but jsut eat healthy and do some exercising to stay in good shape or what not and u will find out everything elts when u go to the doctor..
dont worry about caffinee thay have proven it not to have any affects on baby's so if u drink coffee feel free to continue and soda. but soda can make u dehydrate in the hot summer
DRINK LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER

Get plenty of rest!!!! Trust you will need it. My doctor told me that you can take flinstone vitamins. SHe told me that they're just as strong as prenatal vitamins. I cant take the prenatal vitamins because they make me feel more sick than I already feel. The flinstone vitamins work like a charm, all you need is two a day. Try and not be too stressed and worried, everything will be okay. GOOD LUCK

before you go to the doctor write everything down on paper you want to ask don't be ashamed of any questions you might have no matter how silly they sound if your not sure about the answer ask for more detail be completely honest and make sure they do a glucose test to check your blood sugar you could get gestational diabetes why your pregnant and if this is your first child ask about how it is going to change your life and very important take some birthing classes and some first time parenting classes they help a bunch and most important this could be a little overwhelming your first time you go to the doctor make sure you have someone with you that is equally as excited and will be listening as well till you get the hang of everything

I'm not pregnant (Congrats btw!) but I do know that you can only get prenatal vitamins with a prescription from the doctor, so that will have to wait. But I would suggest getting one of those What o Expect When You're Expecting books, and taking care of your self (eat healthy, rest).
Good luck!

As a nurse I would recommend that you watch what you eat and drink - make sure that you are getting enought water and all of the right food groups - if you do not have insurance then get a possitive pregnancy test done at a health dept and go to a WIC office and Family services so that you can start your health care- Dr do not want to see you until you are at a certain time in your pregnancy so that if your pregnancy terms on its own -

you should be on prenatal vitamins, and you do not have to have a prescription to get them them, you can buy them at walmart, of your local drugstore. and don't take any other medication but tylenol, before your doctor visit, and at the visit ask your doctor for a list of medicines that you can take that won't harm the baby, also buy some antacid tablets because you will definitely need some of those. good luck

For the moment, start by not drinking any alcohol or doing any drugs. Also, don't take any medicines yet without talking to your doctor. Cut back on the caffeine, it is related to low-birth weight babies. One cup a day is considered the limit of what is safe, but if you can cut completely it's even better. Refrain from certain sports, like sky diving or horse-back riding. And if you aren't already doing so, eat healthy so you and your baby have proper nutricion. That's t he basics. Congratulations.
