271000001, what you have to do to find this is using scientific notation you can write 2.71 x 10^8 as 27100000 and then simply add one. You do scientific notation by moving the decimal place to the right as many times as the exponent indicates. You would do this one by moving the decimal place in 2.71 8 places to the right. Hope this helps :)

okay this is simply scientific notation

so the 10 will have 7 more zeros on the end (or the 1 will have 8 zeros)

so now that you have 2.71 you just move the decimal place 8 places to the right

2.71
move 1 to the right
27.1
moving it 2
271.
3
2,710.
4
27,100.
5
271,000.
6
2,710,000.
7
27,100,000.
8
271,000,000.

now just add 1

and you have
271,000,001

*10^8 means moving the decimal point 8 places to the right.

So it would be

1+ 271,000,000 = 271,000,001

P.S.--help for later--if you had a negative exponent, like 10^-8, you move the decimal place to the left instead of the right.
