you are probably pregnant, hun, especially if you got a positive hpt. sometimes people get false NEGATIVES on an hpt, but rarely, if ever, do people get false POSITIVES. if you are experiencing early pregnancy symptoms this also supports the conclusion that you are pregnant. go back to your dr., or go to a planned parenthood clinic, and ask for a blood test pregnancy test. a blood test will give you the most definitive and reliable answer as to whether you are pregnant or not. probably the only way you could NOT be pregnant at this point is if the 1 day of heavy flow was a miscarriage and the hpt test reads positive because there are still pregnancy hormones in your body from the terminated pregnancy. then again, the blood could have been some implantation bleeding. keep in contact with your dr. and be patient- you will have answers soon enough. good luck!

Take another test just to be sure. Make sure you are following the directions on the box word for word. If that one still reads positive, call your doctor and schedule a visit.
Usually cramping and breast tenderness are normal signs of your period. I went through a change about 3 years ago when my period went from pretty normal with no pain to severe cramping and breast tenderness and a flow lasting only 2 days. Just talk to your doctor about what is going on. Medical advice is usually the best.

Well its not likely that a hpt is going to read positive and you're not really pregnant. Now you could be experiencing a miscarriage which is the reason you would get a positive reading. Unless your boyfriend is a doctor then I would go to the doctor.

if the test said you're positive, then you are VERY most likely pregnant. The tests sometimes read wrong when they're negative, not positive, and usually because there is not enough of the pregnancy hormone yet. But when they say positive, they are usually accurate.
Your other symptoms also point in the direction of a pregnancy.

if you have a heavy flow, than there is not gonna be a pregnancy left in your uterus. Some times people spot after they have conceived, but a heavy flow means you are shedding the lining and that is what contains the fetus. So even if you were, I would assume you are not any more.

You still might need to check that out. Your boyfriend is not a doctor. I really don't know that though. The doctor has all the answers. You never know. Don't always go by what is said.

Have the Dr. do a blood and urine test on you, your body many just think that your pregnant, or you think you are but are not. So go and have some tests done to be for sure that you are.
