The tattoo does no in itself get fat. It is on the skin, so if the part where the tattoo is is stretched because of the growth of fat underneath it, it also expands with the skin.
I hope this helps.

There are steps to be taken to ensure that damage isnt done too badly. Use cocoa butter & vitamin E lotions on your skin daily to help promote the skins elasticity.
depending on how much weight gain their is there really isnt too much of a worry. if you went from 150 pounds to 200 there would be some streching depending on where you got it and so on. There really isnt too much worry of a tattoo distorting badly from weight gain unless its like a gain of 100 pounds or so . most likley places for disortion are the breasts , thighs and stomach. Especially for women.
It depends on the tattoo and the persons skin and each one is different. Thats a chance you take when getting a tattoo :)

That tattoo will stretch out and get distorted if you get fat where the tattoo is. So if you're thinking about getting one, you should try to avoid getting it on your stomach or your *** or any other place that tends to get larger over time.

I have tattooes on my lower belly and my breast. When I was pregnant they stretched. After I had my son and went back to my regular size they had some white spots in them and they were still bigger than they were when I first got them. I had them touched up to take care of the white spots and got used to them bein a lil bigger.
