The Miss Teen USA pageant is a part of the Miss Universe Organization along with Miss USA and Miss Universe. Prior to the 1997 pageants, contestants were allowed to wear the swimsuit of their choice during preliminary competition but had to wear the swimsuit of the swimsuit sponsor during the semi-finals. Currently, contestants wear swimsuits of the swimsuit sponsor in both preliminary and semi-final competiton.
In the early years of pageants, contestants were only allowed to wear one-piece swimsuits. The bikini was eventually introduced as a second option. At Miss USA 2000, the organization debuted another option -- the tankini. However, the popularity of the tankini did not last. The tankini is not longer provided to contestants as an option by the swimsuit sponsor. Currently, these three pageants allow contestants to wear either a one-piece swimsuit or a bikini. Although, since the late 1990s, contestants rarely choose to wear one-piece swimsuits.
Generally, contestants wearing bikinis have tended to score higher than contestants wearing one-piece swimsuits. Also, the bikinis worn on television in these three pageants have become smaller and more sexy in recent years -- perhaps in pursuit of higher television ratings.

I'm not sure but I think you can wear a tankini but just in case buy a tankini and a bikini.

i think you can wear any swimsuit you wanted... i used to see people in one pieces.. its just whatever you think is most flattering for yourself i think.
