No, people will always be greedy and want to have more money then others.
Money is not just used to purchase things, but used (unfairly) as a status symbol.

Good question.
If you are wanting to know if we may become a paperless society in the future, there are theories that suggest that. A paperless society would mean that everyone using the required currency would have to be in the system. This is a great idea for a sci-fi novel.
On the other hand, many economies rely heavily on paper currency & would find it hard to believe that the elimination of this currency would come any time soon.

If I understand your question correctly then it seems obvious to me that the economic model we currently use, and have used for 5000 years, will likely remain for a considerable time into the future. Although the accumulation of wealth will continue far into the probable future, we might look upon dramatic changes in respect to monetary evolution.
Most probably, money will not disappear and it's exchange will be completely electronic by 2100, thus meaning there will be little or no material circulation by that time.

It is already headed out the door. We have been going to a Cashless society now for many years. BUT! Just like changing to the Metric System it takes time. A cashless society will be faster change though than the Metric System.

Already we are talking of paperless office and plastic money. Latest IT gadgets point to the fact that you no longer need money for things. Everything will be done through networking and numbers embedded in our bodies. Biblically it is incorrect but the age is soon approaching for that kind of life.

Look at the Euro dollar...we will have one currency before you know it. I believe we'll be a cashless society within 20 years.
