Well, the referee for tomorrow's match is Mr. Benito Archundia from Mexico, and by default the linesmen are Mexican as well. I remember him from the Brazil vs Croatia and France vs S. Korea matches in the preliminaries, and he seems like a decent chap: not irrational at all. But a word of caution: referees tend to bow to the pressure exerted by cheering crowds, and that may make him look "impartial" on the Germany vs Italy match. I hope that he'll officiate a clean, impartial match with no red cards given (red cards have skewed the balance of quite a few matches, as you might remember....)

Oh, and I found out on Wikipedia that Mr. Archundia is the ref that has issued the least cards in this World Cup. Hope he'll be able to keep it up.

I am from and for germany, but i still want them to win a FAIR game. The refs werent always for them, but i do agreee, quite a lot. They just have the home favour. But that is just something that other countries have to live with. If the cup would be in italy, many refs wud be in favour for italy. It's just how the world works.
I really hope that there is a good ref tomorrow who will let both teams have a fair game (even though germany is sooo much better, they will still win :p)

Most probably not. I am Italian but I am not being partial. We benefited from the refs this tournament as well in Australia game. Seeing everything that happened thw first two worldcups for the host countries like Korea and France- I am sure they will do the same for Germany.

Believe it or not, most referees are fair and impartial. But, like most other human beings, they react to certain circumstances differently. If the players treat the referee with respect, the referees will reciprocate.

Also, like most other human beings, referees occasionally make mistakes. Lets hope that the referees mistake does not affect the outcome of the game.

Well the ref has to be from another country than the teams that are playing, but from what we've seen of refs so far this cup I doubt it will be fair.

I would hope not but from what we have seen so far, it would be a very difficult wager to make for a fair game. I hope Italy wins even though I think the ref stole the match for them when they played the USA.

Depends on how much the FIFA officials paid them.
If Italy wins they are impartial, otherwise the game is fixed.
Italy's defense is the BEST!!!! Forza Buffon
