Are there any intentional communities that it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to join?

Most seem to cost so much that a lot of the people who would benefit can't join...

Or the Arc across the street from Sirius.
You just pay rent there, there is no joining fee.
Try some buddhist communities, also.
