I have no favorite philosopher, because all the philosophers had flaws. But generally my favorite philosophers are:
1. Pol Pot, for his call to return to the countryside and focus on food production and abandon the failed parasitic system of towns and cities
2. Muhammad, for his preaching of love towards ones enemies and warning against attacking women, children and trees in war and to show mercy to those who surrender and for encouraging to free slaves, and warning the enemy before attacking them, among many other things.
3. Jesus, for his sympathy for prostitutes and those who sin and in correcting them with love and for sharing his meals with the poor, among other things.
4. Karl Marx, for his brilliant dedication in exposing the flaws of capitalist society
5. Buddha, for his realization that overcoming anger, greed, and ignorance, is the path to achieve complete self-liberation from suffering (Nirvana).
6. Henry George, for his realization that "There can never be such a thing as overpopulation in a world where ample resources exist to feed every new child -- but those resources are held idle, or devoted to frivolous uses. The miserable conditions that are misnamed "overpopulation" today are the result of poverty, not its cause."
7. Ned Ludd, for his brave stand against the foolish/dangerous path of industrialism.
8. Plato, for his realization that "Until philosophers rule as kings or those who are now called kings and leading men genuinely and adequately philosophise, that is, until political power and philosophy entirely coincide, while the many natures who at present pursue either one exclusively are forcibly prevented from doing so, cities will have no rest from evils,... nor, I think, will the human race.".

My popular philoshopher is Schopenhauer. His commentaries on society and the guy nonetheless carry real immediately. He has given me large perception into myself and the strikes of others. additionally, he's the 1st western philospher to contain eastern theory types into his artwork. Alot human beings say he replaced into very pesimistic, i do no longer fill that way, if fact be told, for me, he replaced into liberating. My important philosophical staple is existentialism. After analyzing Schopenhauer and Nietzsche to boot as my very own very own studies I attained an existential outlook on existence, yet it wasn't till I grew to become famaliar with existential philosphy that i found accessible replaced right into a term for it. i like the possibility of being on my own in a godless universe. The angst replaced into no longer there for me, in basic terms alleviation.

Plato's the dude. The fact that he's still relevent so long after he's been dead and the fact that we are still able to read his books are testament to his enduring wisdom. 'The Republic' should be required reading for all world leaders. The 'Theaetetus' should be part of every general education.

Bertrand Russell
I find Russell's paradox fascinating. His two favorite games were Chess and Poker. ( mine too)
I find this quote of his to be right on.
"The problem with the world is the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt." BR
