I mean c'mon. Did you see the Final Vote Players who only one of them will make it like Verlander, Hafner, Hernandez, Pierzynski, and Liriano. And Redman makes it in?!??! Who is 5-4, 5.59 ERA? And 30 Ks? This is madness. There are players that deserve it more. Should they abolish this rule? I don't care if fans want to see somebody from their team. If they want to see somebody from there team tell their players to play better.

If the All Star game will continue to determine who has home field advantage in the World Series then need to get rid of the rule that every team must be represented.

The rule that every team must be represented is one thing that makes baseball's All Star Game so great. It's a celebration of ALL of Major League Baseball. Take away that rule and you risk the All Star Game becoming a joke, like the Pro Bowl.

I agree though, that Grudzielanek should have been the Royals' representative and not Redman. That one falls squarely on Ozzie Guillen.

You're upset? ...Imagine if you're a true fan of baseball and your team is the KC Royals...And this guy is the best you've got....That would be something to be upset about!! ...The AL could have taken David Dejesus(.320BA - .405OBP) at least his numbers look like they belong....David did miss 30-35 games with a leg injury though....

The all-star selection process is far from perfect there are always players in the starting lineup and on the roster that don't belong....It's simple, all you have to do is come up with a system that selects only the players who should be there, good luck....

I never thought of it that way before, but you are right!! IF every team has to have at least one representative on it, then it should be their best player, not a second rate one. The rule itself is not a bad one. The fool that made the selection is the problem.

I hope you agree.

Someone had to go so that each team is represented - go to www.mlb.com now and vote for the last reserve up to 25 times.
