He was hung on a cross, with wood made from a tree.

you are correct, it does say that! it is just another way of saying a cross (made of wood).

hung from a tree:

acts 5:30
galatians 3:13 (quoting deuteronomy 21:23)

hung from a cross:

matthew 27:32-44
luke 23:26, 33 (this verse uses the term "crucified" which means to hang on a cross)
mark 15:20-32 (cross mentioned several times)
john 19:25, 31

watch the movie "spartacus". it has nothing to do with jesus. it does, however, show several thousand men being crucified..... on a cross.

Unless you can speak Hebrew and translate the Bible you can't claim He was hung on an actuall tree. Besides what are crosses made of?? WOod...from trees..So He was hung on a tree. Theologians know that because back then they used to speak differently, act differently, they've just done a lot of research.

If u do research on it you will find that they nailed criminals on stakes. so i believe that he was nailed to a stake. If you go way back on research about it in the library u will see that trough time man has replaced a stake with the cross. The same as when they removed God's name. and it was in the bible because of the pray that Say's let my NAME BE SANCTIFIED. If one was to go to the library and do the research it is their. Just like the holiday's in the library for anyone to find they all originated from pagan rites believe it or not Christmas too. IT IS IN THE LIBRARY. I was amazed at the amount of people who know this. But still practice these things.

Yep, "eytz": Hebrew. Tree or large piece of wood, such as a cross.
The point behind that being mentioned is that the Hebrew Scriptures state that everyone who is hanged on a tree is under a curse, and Christ is "hanged on a tree," taking the curse of sin upon himself in our behalf.
