Babies move less when it gets closer to delivery. They sleep more and have less room.

I'm sure she's fine. It's pretty normal for the baby to stop moving as much in the last 2 to 3 weeks of pregnancy because there is very little room to allow for movement at that stage. So long as she still moves every now and then I think you should be just fine.

Congrats. I'm due on the 30th. This is my second child. As long as you feel some movement everything should be ok. Eat or drink something afterwards count the babies movements. If there is no movement then contact your doctor. My baby normally tries to kick me or gets in a stiff postion. Just make sure your baby moves. You can also try laying on your back. If you can eat some ice. This always works for me. Good luck.

I'm glad you checked with your doc and that everything's OK. Go with your gut though if you feel anything has changed for the worse (worry meters go into overdrive when we're pregnant, don't they!).
You little baby isn't so little anymore and is simply running out of room! At 38 weeks, she's probably "dropped" and is cramped even more now that she is heading into the birth canal.
Best wishes for a smooth and easy birth!

You need to have your OB/GYN check this out. You can't guess when it comes to your pregnancy! Of course, the baby grows more this part of the pregnancy taking up more space but you don't want to wonder and take a chance. There are certain things to look out for and this could be one of them, hopefully not though. Just at least give the nurse a call. Also, isn't this covered as part of the charge anyway?, so take advantage of it.

As i got closer to my delivery date my baby was moving less too, they run out of room, they are still growing. They also are getting ready for the big day and are catching up on some rest and growing takes rest too for baby. When you drop baby is also shifted into another position so it may be harder to move like she used to. Good luck.

This happened to me too with my daughter. At 36 weeks I was 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I went to the hospital because I was scared that I hadn't felt her move. They told me that because the baby had dropped and was engaged that her ability to move was limited. Also because there just wasn't any room for her to twist and turn and wiggle around anymore. I had her two weeks later. Congratulations on your baby and good luck!!

If you are at 38 weeks then the baby has grown about as much as she is going to before you deliver her. She has gotten just about as big as you have room for her in there. This is why she isn't moving as much - she is in a small space!!!! Blessings to you, a child is such a joy...

it is getting to crowded in there. She doesn't have much room in there since it is so close to her being born. Just about every pregnant woman has went through this. It is normal, and if the doctor isn't to concerned. Then don't worry about it. She will be just fine.

More than likely she is simply running out of room. When I was pregnant with my son, for about the last 3 weeks, he did not move, but simply stretched. It worried me but doc said that he was OK he just did not have room.

Babies move around less the last month of pregnancy because they have little to no room in there. I am glad everything is okay, though!!!
Good luck!!!
