who here is annoyed by every single guy picking up a gituar and saying that they want to play gituar simply because they want to become a 'rock star', and they think they're good at doing it but they've only been playing for less than a year and suck at singing? I play an instrument but it wasn't to try to be something like that, it just lead to it.

i'm not talking about the american idol generation. American idol has launched the careers of kelly and carrie, who both have tried to do it on their own but couldn't do it until american idol helped them get their dreams of being a singer.

I am more annoyed by scantily clad pop stars getting up to a mic thinking that they can sing when in fact they are only up there because they look hot in a bikini while they shake their @$$ for the world.

But I am getting a little annoyed with all these John Mayer wannabes - and Im not a John Mayer fan.

Me!

I hate the fact that most recoginised bands these days have that attitude.

They are just in it for the money - for the glamour of it all and to look 'cool'.

Looking cool has nothing to do with the music we want to hear.

When we listen to their music - we won't be seeing what clothes they wear, what hairstyle they have, or whatever the amount of eyeliner they choose to mask across their eyes!

We will just be hearing the noise of the instruments colliding together and that's all we want.

So all the posers in rock can stop their 'fame game' because true music fans can see right through it!

I have to agree with you. In fact, I often think that the Clash's song "Death or Glory" makes more and more sense everyday now.

Music should be about enjoying it, doing it because it's fun, not because you want the fame and fortune. But that's the way it is with the "American Idol" generation.

I actually like people who suck, but think they're good. I find it very entertaining. Who else am I going to make fun of?
Anyways, there hasn't been a true "rock star" since Kurt Cobain died. Where did all the drug-addicted musicians go? Oh, wait, they all died.
I wish Gerard Way would start using Heroin. That way, either the drug can make him start coming up with better music, or it would kill him, and not make me want to kill myself whenever I hear his atonal, cringe-inspiring vocals.

I think that anybody who sucks at music but thinks they're great is annoying...They can't carry a tune but they think they are the next big thing. I tried playing guitar once, but I sucked, and I knew it, so I stopped...lol, but yes, it is annoying
