when someone says they're on the rebound what does that mean? Or if someone says "i don't want to be the rebound guy" what does that mean? This doesn't have anything to do with sports. I'm guessing relationship wise. Please give me a good explanation so you can get 10 points.

hooking up with someone shortly after being dumped (by someone else) so that you still feel wanted or going from one relationship to the next right away to avoid the pain of a breakup.

Rebound is the trampoline effect, put into a relationship. If you are going with a guy or a girl, and you breakup, there should be a 'cooling off' phase before you get into your next relationship. A chance to get over the first one, re-establish who you are, analyse what went wrong, and just generally get over it, so you don't make the same mistake again.
When someone is on a rebound, that means they have just ended a relationship and flung themselves right into another one. It usually doesn't last, and too often, they go through a series of rebound relationships, and none of them last.
Hope this helps.

It is a term used in dating. When a couple splits the woman may start dating another man or the man may start dating another woman right away. This person is often referred to as the rebound guy because the person just got out of a relationship and may still be healing so they may just be using the person as a distraction/sex/envy/a fling. Whatever. When someone says they don't want to be the rebound guy, they don't want to be the person that is going to just be flung when they might have been looking for love.
Hope that's a good answer for you!

A rebound is someone you take advantage of to get better out of your thoughts for the perfect man or woman you've been with. Say that your contemporary significant different merely were given out of a courting. they could nonetheless have thoughts for the ex and can want to apply you to get over that. Therefor you may want to be the rebound. some human beings do not continually keep in mind that they are merely utilising human beings for a rebound and picture they have thoughts for someone and subconsciously they truly merely have thoughts for the different man or woman and they are mistaking that for his or her thoughts for the rebound.

Robound means you are coming back from being out. Being the rebound guy means the girl has been hurt and is looking for someone new but not serious.

It means you just broke up with someone. If you are on the rebound, you are still kind of thinking of the former relationship.

There is an idea that when you are on the rebound you might hook up with someone just to have a bf, and that would be the rebound guy.

When you quickly find someone else after a death of your spouse or even a breakup that's what rebound means. You find comfort in someone elses arms but it becomes too soon. It takes awhile for you to realize the new person isn't for you. For instance, my dad died. Within 3 months my mother married a new man. He wasn't her type at all, but she fell hard for him because he comforted her in her grief. She was blind to the fact he was not right for her. He took her places and kept her mind off my dad. Within a year, she divorced her new husband. She was on the rebound. She could not see the real man she had married, because she was still grieving for my dad.

3 : a reaction to setback, frustration, or crisis

in other words, you jump right into something before you give yourself time to heal from your recent hurt & you tend to use bad judgement & tend to not be able to really feel what you should for the new person.
