It's pathetic. you don't know who you can be "dating". A 4 year old - a 50 year old pervert. And sometimes it can be the same sex, fooling you. I find that people that want attention and are REALLY desperate to be loved start online dating. If you've met the person and you've know them for awhile it's alright, but when you just spot a person and say, OMG WHAT A NICE PERSON, WANNA DATE!? You don't kno wwho you're talking with or anything.

Awful!
But, things like LavaLife sometimes do work. What I was talking about was like HabboHotel dating, JUST on the Internet!

I've never done this myself, but last semester I did a 6-month long research proposal on online dating. I found out a lot of things from the surveys I handed out that surprised me. A lot of people find online dating to be a viable option for finding dating partners.

I also just watched the movie "Must Love Dogs" this afternoon and thought it was just absolutely endearing. So some people can find love on the Internet. You just have to be really careful.

I think it is bad but dating any other place is just as bad any more. I know my cousins (2 of them found people they married and they are happy) I know there are wicked people out there that go after young girls on the internet. I guess it is a chance in life to meet someone on the internet, or just meeting people in your area (they good be bad too).

no, but trying to make others feel bad for online dating is a desperate attempt to feel better than those people who do date online. :D

I actually think it's kinda fun and u can do it even if u have a bf/gf in real life. U no, there's no real emotional stuff it's just something 2 do wen ur bored. And anyways, it's basically the same as having internet friends, cept u just flirt online or watever.

Its not that bad. I actually met a nice girl a few years ago in Yahoo Chat. We spent like a year together and then broke up. It requires patience, but you can find the correct partner. Its more easier than going to a bar.

No, not really. Sometimes people way are too busy with their work schedules to actually go out to bars and clubs to meet the right one. On-line dating is convenient and you can chose and pick whom you want to date thru their profiles.

I heard eHarmony is actually successful and good at matching peeps up. However other forms might bnot be so good. Dating someone you met on myspace, etc.
