I would recommend St. Augustine because it spreads in hot, moist climates really well. You can plug in a few flats in the spring or early summer and by fall have a lush lawn that will always stay green. It is especially tolerant of animals if you have any critters. I am trying to encourage it to grow in my yard in the foothills of Northern California and it has yet to die out. And we get temperatures down into the 20's or 30's in the winter. Some of it will go dormant but it always comes back strong when the hot weather hits.

If funds isn't a huge ingredient, Zoysia is extensive for hotter climates. the main important situation with Zoysia is that it fairly is in many situations offered by way of sod, and seed is perplexing to come across. that's an extremely thick grass, meaning much less weeds, and from my journey it would not improve as speedy as maximum fescues. it fairly is drought resistant, yet warning, it is going to turn brown whilst the regular each and each day temperatures get into the decrease 50's. it fairly is particularly a tropical grass.

Fo the front yard you need to go with-St. Augustine it comes back beautiful every year. ........................................................And for your big private backyard I'd go with the "texass-canna"- it smells sweet- it get's really green and at the end of the season when it get's chilly down here you can take it in, burn it slow and pretend your on a tropical island with some "buds. Have fun! we have now entered the mow your front yard twice a freakin' week era of the year here in SE Texas.
