It was Andy Williams, but Matt Munro covered it. It is the best song at the moment, you should check out Luther Vandross' version of it. It is amazing

There is a song called The Impossible Dream this was recorded by Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine. It made it to No 21 in the UK Charts back in 1992. There is no song listed in the Charts for Impossible Dream! If this is definitely the name it may be an album track!
