I swear every time I turn around someone always says something about us:

being on welfare
having kids outta wedlock
having an attitude
being overtly aggressive
being unattractive unless we are mixed
and the list goes on...

I'm not gonna lie there are a lot of black woman like that but not all of us are.

I'm a good mostly mellow person. I don't have an attitude or 5 different baby daddys. I'm not only concerned with only partying and sex. I like to concentrate on my studies(sometimes) though I may not be the smartest person. My family also lives in a decent neighborhood and is doing okay and is not on welfare.

There are plenty other people like me so whats the deal.

I have encountered plenty of people like the list you have described, and believe me they are definitely not all black. People need to realize that ignorance, poverty, bad attitude - they don't discriminate based on race, so either should we. I am sorry you encounter this.

As a white person, I can't even begin to imagine what life as a black woman is like in this country. I don't have to deal with what I'm sure is a negative stereotype.

However, I do need to ask. Why is that black people, when one of their own becomes educated and successful and rises above the poverty and racism and barriers that keep the black person down, is then considered an "Uncle Tom"?

While I do agree that many whites try to limit the power of non-whites in many ways, I also think that those people who do live down to the stereotypes that you put forth above, also try to keep people down. What do you think? Do you agree or disagree?

Asian women persons also face stereotypes about being strong for sex. i'd say they have it worse as far as comparisons flow. Black women persons are quite in many circumstances sexualized by utilizing Black men. each and every race looks to entice close what a "satisfied ending" is and who to anticipate it from.

It's easier than getting to know you. Just like where I'm from we are stereotyped as red-necks. I consider the source, the intelligence level and the number of brain cells that are necessary to make a narrow minded misconception like that public. Then I divide that by the number of morons that share that opinion and come up with the answer "it isn't worth the time it takes to figure it out". You are too intelligent and have too much going for you to worry about it. Take it from a "redneck" who thinks you should look back on all of that crap and be glad you are in another category. Good luck in school, study hard, become a lawyer and sue those peoples butts off.

I asked a question not too long ago about able bodied people getting welfare and medicaid. I got chewed out by a black woman saying I was racist. I was accually talking about people I knew in my town that are VERY white. NOT all welfare/medicaid questions are directed to black people. They are to ANYONE abusing the system. I am white but was the only white family in my neighborhood for 20 years of my life.

Just plain ignorance. The media makes people ignorant. If you hear some rap song you will find out why black women are seen like this. I mean the rappers says, "Bitches and ho's clap your hands!" And the women clap their hands. People stereotype women of other races too. My girlfriend is black, although she is mixed, she is good-looking and she is actually very shy. She like studies sometimes all day and she hates rap music in which theres cussing and sex and all that bad crap just like me. Rap is not ALWAYS like this but it is becoming more and more frequent nowadays.

Too many people see a few and label the rest as the same. Smart people can usually gauge if you are or are not the stereotypes you describe.
