Hot hot hot bath. So hot you can barely stand it. IF you want to spend some money add some Epsom Salts.

You might consider looking into a good pair of supportive shoes. I would consider a pair of nursing or doctors shoes because they are made for people constantly on the go. I am not sure if you mean that you are having joint or ligament pain or just muscle pain. I don't really have a preference on pain relievers just a regular OTC pill will probably work. If It is joint and ligament pain associated with wear and tear from long hours up and down then I would recommend glucosamine, its a natural herbal supplement that helps to build back the tissue within your body that has become worn down over time. It is as good idea to consult your regular doctor if the pain doesn't go away over time..... there could be and underlying problem. Often a problem in another area can cause pain in a completely different locality. (example: heart attacks associated to arm pain) I hope this helps, and good luck.

I'm a cook at Pizza Hut. (Not a chef by far...but I'm only16.) I have the same problem. I'll be on my feet for 8-10 hours a day. What helps me is when I am on the make table, I shuffle my weight. I try and pick my feet up for 2 or 3 seconds at a time, and rotate my ancles. I try and increase bloodflow to my feet and legs as much as possible. And every break I have, I put my feet up on something. If that doesn't help, try the creams they have for arthritis. That helps me with my neck. I'm always looking up to the screen (for the order) and then back down to the pizza. So my neck tends to hurt. It might be smelly, and a pain in the butt...but it does help. Good luck!!

I believe they make support socks for men. Maybe you could try them. Also you might want to try this:Blue Spring Wellness RejuvaLegTM It supports leg health and appearance. After long periods of standing or sitting (especially standing on the job and air travel), your legs can ache and feel tired and heavy - because when legs "feel" like that, they often "look" like that as well.

RejuvaLeg™ contains a unique, triple-standardized Grape Vine Leaf Extract to maintain healthy leg circulation and relieve the occasional tired, heavy aching feeling.*

The Exclusive Active Leg Blend™ features additional clinically studied herbs.

The herbal combination features high concentrations of critical polyphenols, whose high antioxidant activity supports and protects the underlying vascular system.*

Hope this helps!

There are a couple of things you can do... Make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day this helps to flush out the toxins created when muscles are used, and it prevents muscle fatigue. There are also topical applications you can use such as a gel that contains menthol and camphor, this will help with the muscular aches. And last but not least stretch the leg muscles, if you ask @ a gym they will give you a couple of simple leg stretches to ease your discomfort.... Hope this helps (",)

I was a chef for six years and had exactly the same problems, yes lots of other people stand for periods of time but with chefs it tends to be about 12/14 hours solid. I tried lots of remedies, linament, massages, supports etc but the best and most effective cure was when i got another job, seriously my legs haven't troubled me since, except after a rough game of soccer.

What kind of shoes do you wear? They could help tremendously even for your legs. When you have to stand in one place, get a small step and place one foot on it, when you're not using it, just slide it under your work station.
Good brands of shoes and you will pay for them but they are well worth the investment, are Rocksport, French Shriner, and DeerStags. You might also consider some waterproof law enforcement shoes, they do very well too.

massage does amazing things, what is most likely goes on is your muscles are too tight and by not giving them a chance to properly rest up they continue to get tighter. i suggest a massage concentrating on your legs and feet. it will do wonders. also a good suggestion is to ask for a gluteal massage (the butt) i know it sounds weird but so many of your muscles connect to your iliac (butt bones) and the be able to massage there and get those muscles worked out will solve a lot of the tension in your legs. a half hour concentrated on your legs will suffice, i suggest finding an actual massage parlor and not a spa seeing as how spas specialize in just that, spa massage. a medical massage therapist or a masotherapist.

It might sound simple, but maybe some new shoes, extra padding-things like Dr. Scholl's products and possibly even stretching out. Are you new to being on your feet all day? Is it just a matter of training your body for that?

What about wearing some sort of support hose and shoes designed for people on their feet. If you tend to wlak in a small area you could get some kind of floor mat insted of being on a hard concrete or tile floor.
