when the truck idels the oil pressure is just right above the red line sometimes the check gauge light, is lit. while driving the oil pressure is about 40-50.

40 to 50 PSI on a cold engine and hopefully not lower than 20 PSI hot is a good rule of thumb. But that is of course providing your guage is accurate,

the oil pressure gauge will vary dpeneding on the engines RPM. 40-50 isn't bad. if you really want to know exactly, call the dealership, or get the book on it

3 ideas, replace oil and filter out and use 20w50 oil. Are you certain its no longer gas injectors you listen ticking, and intensely last lifters will be going undesirable which if previous proprietor did not guard good may be problem.
