people are going to blame Rooney for being sent off or Ronaldo for winding up Rooney or they may blame Sven (like me) for not picking the right squad to go to germany or playing the wrong formation so who does others blame

ROONEY. He's a professional and should know better. It's his fault.

Many aspects....
1- Coaching. Even the selections were questionable and the play on the pitch in every game showed that the talent was not equal to performance.
2- ROONEY: Rooney's hot head may have cost them the game.
3- CHOKING: As always England chokes again, they have nto won anything in 50 years.
4- Michael Owen: This was quite a loss. However it looks like Sven was still going to play with only one forward - Rooney.
5- Arrogance: British fans seem to think that their team is better than it actually is. However I dont think the players quite believe it. This puts pressure on the team. There was not a single player that looked confident enough going to take a PK. In fact Portugese goalie was quoted as saying " I looked in their eyes and I knew they could not score."

I don't think you can place blame for a single game, or a single call, for that matter.

I, like you, think Sven was there too long, picked the wrong squad, and like a lot of pundits said (this isn't original), didn't put players in a position to succeed.

But I think blame can be put on players too. They just didn't play that well. One, in particular, stands out, not only because he had a crap tournament, but then shot back at the media, saying "I deserve some respect..." How about saying, "I had a crap tournament, I'm sorry to the fans we all didn't play better, hopefully we'll do better in two years." Lampard played the worst of a bad bunch.

How is blaming the finest League, blaming Anglo-Saxons? i imagine the French would have a straightforward aspect in blaming the finest League. It promotes egotism and overpaid athletes. inspect England, there's a reason each of the finest League "stars" did not gel jointly. England were given humiliated 4-a million by a German crew who all play contained in the Bundesliga and earn 0.5 as a lot or below the common English participant. the reality is, France were extra efficient (WC 1998, Euro 2000) earlier all their gamers began going to England for $$$.

The goalkeeper looked kind of sluggish during the PKs. Plus, he didn't read the kickers' bodies nearly as well as the Portugese goalie (or maybe he just wasn't as lucky). Since that's what it came down to, I guess you could blame him.

I'd say it was a team effort, though. The coach was no help, either. Why did he take Lennon and his fresh legs out of the game when the second OT was winding down? The guy who took his place kicked his first PK before the whistle and then sent his second one straight to the goalie. Great sub.

I believe that no one is to be blamed for England's exit. As it was all luck in the favour of Portugal. If you had watched the match closely, it was the goalkeeper of Portugal, Ricardo, who changed the face of the match. So blame him.

England as a team in itself, is an awsome team to play with. The coach did a great job workign with the team. The efforts should be appreciated, rather than they being dishearted.

Rooney. England needed him. However he is a spoiled brat. When he does not get what he wants ... he throws a tantrum. This is why he did get a "Red Card".

I don't know who to blame probably crouch for having such long legs and tripping over himself all of the time and the refs know this so he never gets any fouls called on him....yup that's my logic! :) if he would get fouls called maybe england would score...yup that sounds reasonable and it didn't help that owen got hurt either i'll tell you that! : P

England's exit is due to their lack of finishing, goal scoring, and luck

Rooney just made it harder for England

and Ronaldo is their excuse for losing

You should blame no one but the players who played.
