You're young, and unfortunately, your time will come someday, most likely.....but to describe a "broken heart"...here is my take on one. Imagine a person reaching inside your chest, tearing your heart out by it's roots, and then stomping it into the floor right before your eyes.....with no regard for you, or your feelings, whatsoever. It hurts 24/7....you cry until you have NO more tears to cry....then just sob, but no tears will come. You are unable to eat, or sleep....you would almost welcome death, if only you could die....but it doesn't quite kill you. And, THAT"S what a broken heart feels like!

Unfortunately, I think you will find out in time what it feels like to have a broken heart. You have to have your heart broken at least once in order to appreciate what love truly is and what it can be. As for "what it feels like" - it is different for everyone - overwhelming sadness, crying, anger, and "closing down" (where you just want to curl up into a ball and be left alone) are all quite common. With time, luck, and in some cases, therapy - what starts out feeling like you've been kicked in the stomach with your heart ripped out of your chest and stomped on ends up as only a slight ache or even a not-so-fond memory.

The first thing you have to do is SMILE....right now SMILE...do it...are you doing it.....you better be. The feelings of a brocken heart varies from person to person. I personally feel sad. Think about the person, hope and wish the person will call soon and beg for me to come back. I wonder if he is thinking about me too. Just know that ,with time, your brocken heart will mend. Try to do things that make YOU happy. I know at 12 you barely have the freedom to just pick up and leave to shop or visit with friends. But call your friends or chat online (dont talk to weird strangers). Hope you feel better soon.

A broken heart is the worst kind of pain. One thing about physical pain...it can be healed with medicine. Emotional pain doesn't go away. You feel like your future is lost, your past was a dream, and your present is being lived in vain. Everything reminds you of the person you can't have. You'll experience it soon enough. Sadly.

OMG it's such a ugly empty hurtful feeling when the person you are in love with just breaks your heart. As for me when my first love broke my heart I didn't know what to do I didn't want to cry but it's just so hard not to, but when I did it kind of help I'm not saying I was over him & moved on but letting the tears out helped me kind of coup w/ the situation.

It was very painful for me. It lasted for about two years. I dont want to go into details because its too painful and i dont want to remember (even though im over it) but i will say that as soon as you find someone else (like i did) its easier to move on and forget that person. The phyisical affects for me was that my stomache and my chest seriously hurt. I would get headaches all the time, and my eyes would be swollen from all the crying i did.

It is something not to look forward to. It also can make you stronger as a person. There are many levels of "broken hearts" through out life. Just be strong and I hope you don't have many, some can be tough to handle.

its a hallow aching feeling, despair and longing, an empty feeling that could only be matched by death. It feels like starving. Like everything in your body is wilting and your blood might never flow again. its like losing a part of you that you didnt realize was alive and could die.

There is nothing compared to a broken heart.

It feels like every minute of the day is hell and you want to sit in your bed all day and cry. If feels like you've lost your faith in humanity, and your best friend, and nothing will ever be ok again. Does this help?
