What was the wildest excuse you used to...?

Mine was a true one, however it was wild. I was calling from a gurney on the way into surgery after a rock climbing accident ripped a toe off my right foot

I was in Palm Springs at a wild party and I got pretty drunk and was dancing on a small wall around the pool when I fell backwards into some bushes and was semi-conscious. I woke up the next morning STILL in Palm Springs when I was due in to work at 10:00 back in San Diego (about 2 hrs away) So I called and told my boss what happened and she laughed and said, "You couldn't possibly have made that up! OK take care and we'll see you tomorrow"
