iPods are probably the best because they have so many options and features and right now pretty much dominate the market. Depending on which one you select, they start at $69 for the 512MB shuffle (lowest model), move onto the $149 1GB iPod Nano (again, lowest in that series), go to a 30GB full iPod for $299 (again, lowest in that series).

The iPods are extremely easy to use and extremely functional. I have a 1GB iPod Nano and it suits me just fine. I love having it with me when I'm exercising.

The Creative Zen Vision: M would be one of the best, if not the best.

It has a great screen, radio, voice recording, (which the iPod doesn't have), photo viewing with slideshows, and video playback, too. You can also change the background on the player. It's very easy to use. It has a capacity of 30GB (around 15,000 songs at 128kps, MP3) and is priced the same as the iPod w/ Video. The battery life is at 16 hours per charge.

The Sandisk Sansa e200 or the iRiver Clix would be the way to go if you need less storage.

The e200 holds 2GB/4GB/6GB. (around 500/1000/1500 songs)
It has all the features the above has (video, etc.) except the background changing option. It's very easy to use like the above. The battery life is at about 22 hours per charge. I have one of these and it's great!

The iRiver Clix has a unique design, and has a larger screen than the e200. It supports MTV's new URGE music service, and come with 2 games on it. It also has many features such as video, games, alarm clock, text viewing, etc.). The battery life is around 19 hours. See for yourself below!

I would consider an ipod. I have 3 mp3 players and of all 3 I love my ipod the best. The other 2 are Creative brands and they don't hold as much music and one of them died on me 2 months after I bought it. Ipod's are easy to use and can do more things. And are user friendly. All you do is get itunes, available at apple.com and plug in your ipod and your good to go. Just download your songs to a folder. If I can do it anyone can. Good luck

A good MP3 player to get is an Audiovox. It's around $99 and
it shows the songs, artists, battery life, and albums your songs that u put on there r from. I have one and I have dropped it 5 times and had it for 2 years and it is still as good as it ever was. I suggest u get an Audiovox mp3 player.

I'm going to back-up perfectionist. The Zen Vision M is probably the best idea. With IPODs you can only illegally download music or use iTunes. The Zen allows copy-protected WMAs to be used. It supports many video types (with ipod you must convert them). But scratch-wise, both the ipod and vision m sucks

Creative Zen......
I have had mine for almost a year now.
I researched....
Ipod is nice, but it doesn't have the same features as Creative!
Besides most people ONLY buy Ipod because they are following the masses...
Just research and make your own decision!

one word:

IPOD.

you can find all sorts of accessories for them and if you want a carrying case they have TONS. on the other hand, if you get an off-brand, you cant find ANYTHING for them. trust me. just get an ipod b/c you will regret it later when u want to find a wall-charger for it and have to go to lots of stores and then when you DO find it its realy overpriced but u have to get it anyways b/c theres no where else to go!

so basically wat im trying to say is ipods , however annoying they may be, are a better deal in the long run.
