I don't see it running anymore after I boot up. Am I ok now? I hear it is a trojan.

adaware did not touch it and I ran the latest version with a deep scan...anyway I think it's gone. thx

It appears to be a trojan or spyware, yes. You're halfway okay. You have to remove it from your registry too. The best thing to do would be to download a-squared for free at http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/. This will detect any registry keys that might still be associated with atiupdate5.exe. The thing with deleting trojans, spyware, etc., is that you may not get them at all levels. A good anti-malware program will remove all levels of operation of the program.

Ad-aware 6 is a free program that you can download at:

Check for updates before running program. After clicking Start, when the Preparing System Scan windows pops up, check Use Custom Scanning Options, then click Customize. Make sure that Activate in-depth scan is checked.
