Can you technically be a virgin and still get pregnant? If one has sex for the first time and the penis doesn't quite go in far enough to 'pop the cherry,' is there still a possibility to get pregnant? I know it didn't because there was no blood, and that's what I was told by a number of women that the first time you bleed a little.

Also, say you have sex on a Tuesday and get your period on Thursday... would that mean you are not pregnant because there was no skip, or would it be too close together and it would skip next month?

I did use protection. I'm just a bit paranoid and just want to know the possibilities in this. Even when using protection, it is still possible to get pregnant

Also, I am not a 13 year old like some are assuming. Plus, who's to know that I didn't just get married and am trying to get pregnant. Please don't make judgements.

That is not true about "popping the cherry"... you don't always bleed. There is always a possibilty of getting pregnant if he cums inside you, whether he was in you all the way, or barely in you. The sperm will find their way!! I'm not sure about being pregnant if you got your period two days later, I know that it takes a couple of days for the sperm to actually find the egg. You may want to go to your Planned Parenthood or local health clinic for the emergency contraception pill just to be sure, unless you are trying to get pregnant, which Im sure you arent if you were a virgin. Hope this helps! Take care.

Okay - there's a lot of misinformation here. I'll try my best -
1 - Guess what - if the penis went in your vagina at all, you are no longer a virgin. Not every woman bleeds the first time you have sex, especially if you are active in sports.
2 - Yes, you could be pregnant even if it didn't go in all the way, even if you didn't bleed because many times penises secrete this clear fluid (not semen) when the man is aroused and that fluid contains sperm. Even if he was just a little inside you, the sperm in that fluid could technically work its magic.
3 - Yes, you could be pregnant and still get your period.

It does not sound like you used protection - it is also an urban legend that you can't get pregnant your first time.

If you are concerned, you should go see your ob/gyn who can perform a blood pregnancy test before your next period I think. Otherwise, you will need to wait until your next period and if you don't get it, get a pregnancy test.

Good luck...

well first off there may have been no blood because your cherry had already popped from a non-sexual activity in the past. (riding a horse and a bike are common causes apparently) And getting your period 2 days after sex by no way indicates that you are not pregnant. Be smart next time and use protection - - you need to protect youself from more than pregnancy anyways.

Yes you can be pregnant. The initial lubricant that comes out of the penis without climax is loaded with sperm. The hymen stretches with penetration and not everyone bleeds when losing her virginity.Your period is a good indicator of no pregnancy, but not guaranteed. Practice safe sex and birth control. Motherhood is a serious job.Have a great day and with sex comes responsibility. That is why sex isn't for children. Get educated. There is free information everywhere. Be smart.

In order for you to be pregnant the man's semen would have to have entered your vagina at some point. If you had unprotected sex and his semen entered you there is a possibility you may be pregnant. If you had sex on Tues and got your period on Thurs then you are not pregnant otherwise you would have missed your period. Get a home pregnancy test if you miss your period or if you just want to be sure you aren't pregnant pick up a test.

you know when i had sex for the first time there was no blood and he did go all the way in. "Pop the cherry" is not nessarily the truth. So yes you probably had sex and you are probably not a virgin anymore. You can gewt pregnant from such contact. you can also have your period if you are pregnant. wait two weeks after your sexual experiance and take a test.

The Hymen or "cherry" is often not present for a number of reasons unrelated to sexual activity. Among these are physical activity which may have torn it, disease, or a malformation of the hymen. So not everyone bleeds on first intercourse.

And yes, you still need to test for pregnancy if your period started within say 72 hours of the event.

You don't always bleed the first time you have sex. I didn't. And if you don't want to get pregnant use protection.

Why are you having unprotected sex. You may still be pregnant. You can get preg. even if there is not penetration.

You shouldn't be having sex anyway unless you are married
