Creationism is a religion not a scientific supported fact. You have the right to teach your kids yourself. Why are you trying to push my kid into learning your falsehood? There are PRIVATE schools that will teach your kids all the lies you wish them to believe as truth. You have the freedom to send them there. I pay to send my girl to a college prep school so she won't learn that crap. I make less that 18,000 a year so don't tell me it is too expensive. Your belief is all you have, make it affordable. I have loved ones dying in a war so you can have the choice. ( thank you veterans) And all you can do is complain about it and want more things your way.
Tell you what, you go teach your creationism, and I get to teach Wicca 101, healing plants and herbs. What do you say? My belief is no more wrong than yours, mine has scientific basis. I have devoted years of my life searching for the truth for myself and to teach my kids. 23 plus years devoted to the truth in religion studies.
The majority of the countries still teaching creationism are the ones we call "backwards" and "third world". We send our missionaries over there to build and run schools, that is the only reason they are taught that. I think it is also taught by Muslim countries. so, send your kid to the Muslim school where they will learn values and morals in addition to the creationism lie. The christian school won't necessarily teach them morals.

The government can neither sanction nor refuse any religion. Your kids obviously can't learn creationism in school. There is a separation between Church and State. It's not an issue of liberalism.
You believe that we were created by God in Jesus's image. Most Christians do not believe this. 1/5 of he world is Muslim, they have a different creation story. There are millions of religions. the government can't force your beliefs and religion on anyone. There are so many reasons why not. Just think about it, it's obvious.
It's not scientific. You can't teach children that evolution doesn't exist. The only people who could believe this are ignorant people or people who ignore the huge amounts of evidence. Or people who are going to that creationist 'museum' in Kentucky. This is the biggest part. Sure, evolution isn't perfect, but at least there are facts behind it.
Teaching creationism puts all the kids at a disadvantage. They'll not know anything. If you accept creationism there's so many things that you can't learn. About microbiology, atoms, genetics because if you learn about any of these things in an in depth way, you'll have to know about evolution, because these things are the proof behind evolution.
Not everyone believes what you do. I don't know anyone personally who actually thinks creationism is real. You can't say to my hugely liberal and hugely non-religious school population that now they will be learning that creationism is it. There would be protests (we do protest, peacefully, on school grounds), people would drop out. The school would be basically empty. It would be like throwing all the democrats out, leaving perhaps a dozen people out of 2000.
And on top of that, you just can't do it. I've been trying so hard not to yell at this, but the idea is completely moronic. Stop watching Fox news for a moment, you'll see what I mean.

They can't learn it in school because we are trying to phase out all of the erroneous thinking that has been so pervasive in our society for such a long time. The education system does not recognize that "God" did this. Not in other countries, not in major universities, not in most public schools.
There are specific schools all over our great country that you have the freedom to send your child to and they will be taught your religious beliefs.
The separation established in the constitution of Church and state was done for a reason. Our founding Americans came here to resist religious oppression. They didn't want to believe what the church there taught them. Now, you are trying to jump on some kind of soapbox and tell me you would rather my kids be put in the same position we fled from and fought for?
Madame, you are insane. You are ungrateful for the opportunities you do have, you are ungrateful for the blood shed on your behalf to make us all free. You are not being a good testament to the loving understanding nature that you would have us believe.
This is why creationism should not be taught in school. We will then be the tyrant.

Creationism is a non-scientific approach to the creation of the world, therefore it belongs in a philosophy or theology class, not a science class. And, responsible teachers would teach other scientific theories as theories, it is just that some teachers are not responsible, and they fail to realize that Darwin is being proven wrong every-once-in-a-while. If you want yoru kid to know about creationism, teach them, or have them take a theology class. Now, if a teacher wanted to show how creationism could fit with scientific ideas, then it could be appropriate in a science class. But Creationism does not follow the scientific method, it is not experementally tested, and does not belong in Science classes. This does not defeat the validity of Creationism. I believe that God created the universe. I think he used the laws of physics to create it. He wrote the laws we are struggling to find in the feild of science. He is the ultimate scientist.

I am assuming that by "Liberal schools" you mean public? Can't imagine you would send your kids to a private school that didn't reflect the kind of education you want them to receive? So, if liberal schools means public then they are doing there job by not promoting religion in the classroom. "Separation of church and state! Not sure where you came up with "Right" to learn creationism in the class??????
If you look around I'm sure you will find a private school that offers the kind of education you want your children to receive.

Even though I am a believer in creationism, I would not want the public schools to teach my son anything about religion. If we allow Christianity into the public schools, then we have to allow anything else that chooses to call itself a religion. As a young child, I would not want my child exposed to many of those opinions. I prefer to have him go to the church of my choice until he reaches high school and has a better ability to make informed decisions.

They can learn that if you send them to a private school. Catholic schools not only give you a good general education but also one rich in religion. The problem with public schools is that they are public and we have what is called separation of church and state. Public is for everyone, private is for those who want more of what the state cannot offer.

Why can't they learn it at home?
Religious instruction must be done at home, because the school is a state institution, and the state may not interfere or impose any particular religion on the citizens.
Or do you think your strength of faith, and your children's cannot withstand the knowledge of other points of view? How weak is that?

Ask your Congressman. For some reason, the ACLU and the Madelyn Murray O'Hare's for the world have misinterpreted "separation of church and state." Don't blame your schools. My state at least allows us to say the pledges (state, too) and we are given a minute (not moment) of silence to use as we choose each morning!

It's separation of church and state. AND it is NOT a God given right.
Education is a privilege, not a right.
Check with your school's Board of Education if you have complaints. We can't help you very much here.
