Presuming that you mean by car, I always use www.theaa.com and then the route planner. Enter your start and end destination. It will work out your route, tell you the total miles, and approximate length of journey time. It is always pretty close.

I did it from Edinburgh once in 5 hours. Got really lost in York though, and I shouldn't have been anywhere near york.

i drove it last week, there and back in one day !! it took me 6 hrs with 2 coffee stops
