Contrary to the obligatory American swagger and chest-thumping, a total UN embargo on the USA would collapse the USA in the span of six months to a year max. Have any of you folks checked out your trade deficit? You guys import far more than you contribute to the rest of the world and you do it on credit so it's not like you have goods nor money to back it up (or to cver if an embargo came, for that matter). For instance, 80% of your oil comes from or passes through Canada alone....turn that off and America is already done. "But we would just invade Canada" of course the mindless patroits would say. Too bad we look and act like you and would have quite an easy time sabotaging anything in Canada or America if the USA was ever sooooo stupid as to bite the hand that feeds it.

The USA has prospered because the rest of the world viewed you as the burly brother who jumped headlong into a bar brawl but was a decent guy despite the obvious lack of social graces. Now that America is starting to stop even being decent, we realize we don't need you andin fact keeping you around it hurting us. Sure it's convenient for the rest of us but don't think for a second the rest of us couldn't crush America if it ever came down to you or us. Your military might relies on some of your allies playing nice, so don't forget that.

Because we were right in what we did and France was like Germany and Russia in taking bribes to block action by the UN that was justified when Saddam violated the terms given to him earlier and also the Resolutions which defined His abilities. The US still has VETO powers and that could have stopped any unfavorable action by the UN.

Apparently you do not understand what the UN really is. The USA does not intend to allow the UN to dictate its foregin policy. Who cares if the UN even thinks of imposing sanctions on the USA, it would have no effect. Love or hate the USA, economic sanctions against us would bring about the total collapse of the world's economy. If you doubt this, give it a shot.

You’re right. And let me tell you who those bad guys are. They’re us . WE BE BAD.

“We’re the baddest-assed sons of bitches that ever jogged in Reeboks. We’re three-quarters grizzly bear and two-thirds car wreck and descended from a stock market crash on our mother’s side. You take your Germany, France and Spain, roll them all together and it won’t give us room to park our cars. We’re the big boys, Jack, the original, giant, economy-sized, new and improved butt kickers of all time. When we snort coke in Houston, people lose their hats in Cap d’Antibes. And we’ve got an American Express card credit limit higher than your piss-ant metric numbers go.”

“You say our country’s never been invaded? You’re right, little buddy. Because I’d like to see the needle-dicked foreigners who’d have the guts to try. We drink napalm to get our hearts started in the morning. A rape and a mugging is our way of saying ‘Cheerio.’ Hell can’t hold our sock-hops. We walk taller, talk louder, spit further, f*ck longer and buy more things than you know the names of. I’d rather be a junkie in a New York City jail than king, queen and jack of all you Europeans. We eat little countries like this for breakfast and sh!t them out before lunch.”

The U.N. can go jump in a lake. We need to send them to France and free up some prime parking and luxury housing in New York.

The U.S. also needs to stop funding that ridiculous and embarrassing world body.

Could it be because we house them and fund them?

Could it be because no one really cares about the UN except the UN?

Why did they "let" us? How would they have stopped us? What power does the UN have over us? We are a sovereign nation. We are not beholding to the UN for diddly.

The UN needs to go away anyway.
