Great acting, cinematography, costumes, music and dialog ... but a bit too long and a large bit self-indulgent ... that whole "tortured to death" scene at the end was about three times as long as it needed to be. There was a quite a lot of fat left in ... which is why directors should let editors work. Gibson obviously fell in love with the material and couldn't bear to cut anything. It's not just this film, it's many movies nowadays, where they think More is Better. They leave me wanting less, instead of wanting more.
And that's a shame.

I think it was really good. A little gorey at times. Probably an 8. It is my husband favorite movie so we watch it a lot.
