I need to know which members of the elite supported Mussolinis regime, what they did and how this benefited him. Can anyone help me on this or suggest some websites which have information on this specific topic? I've found a lot of italian fascism websites but none seem to mention elite support. Thanks.

The fascist militias, supported by the wealthy classes and by a large part of the state apparatus ,for example:
1.Dino Grandi-who supported the acts of violence by facist squadristi
2. King Victor Emmanuel III, preferring to avoid any spilling of blood after attacking the capital, decided to appoint Mussolini, who at that moment had the support of about 22 deputies in Parliament, President of the Council.

Generally, the movement was supported by small capitalists, low-level bureaucrats, and the middle classes, who had all felt threatened by the rise in power of the Socialists. Fascism also met with great success in rural areas, especially among farmers, peasants.
