Items you buy from Ebay are only as trustworthy as the person who is selling them. I would suggest that you check the sellers feedback before you buy anything off Ebay and if all of their feedback is good you are in with a chance of a good purchase.

Obviously the higher number of feedback ratings the better.

As long as the seller is not from China, the ipods from china are fakes and only look the same as a ipod nano.
You need to look where you are buying the ipod nano from before you bid for it.
There is no chance you will get an ipod nano for £10, it will start off at £10 but will end up in the region of £90 (depending on gb size)
Before buying a nano you need to check if it is new or used and what generation / when it was made as the original batch of ipod nanos had a screen fault and faulty click wheel.

The main question is:

Is the seller trustworthy, rather than eBay? is what you're really asking...

1. Check their feedback - yea, they may have 100%, or even 95.5% positive feedback, but are the comments cookie cutter statements? ~~\..../~~ Great seller! A+

2. Check the number of feedbacks - obviously the higher the better, however look to see how many of those are negative, and whther or not those people who left the feedback are still registered users (a lot of sellers tend to put small priced items online and make a new account, make that person the winner to boost their feedback rating)

3. Check the date they joined, if it was yesterday, but they have 1000+ positive feedback, that's something to be concerned about.

4. Send a message to the previous sellers, were they satisfied after the auction?

5. contact the seller, if they are willing to provide information about the product, they seem reputable, however if they are reluctant to give information, move on... I was going to get a 4GB ipod nano for $50, when the auction ended I was then instructed to send him a money order, to a pobox. I told him to give me the serial number of the ipod, so that I can check to see if it is not stolen, and he then gave me negative feedback, and cancelled the auction... Yea, I got negative, but I also replied back with the email correspondance he sent to me.

6. If you're unsure, get the item, insist to pay with paypal and pay the buyer protection - that way if you do get stiffed, you can recover some money... I purchased something from Hong Kong, and paid with the buyer protection... The seller was no longer a registered user, so I contacted him... He did respond, and I did get the item despite he is no longer associated with ebay...

7. Maintain contact with the seller: Request his contact information if they do not reply back to your emails, that way you can call them up directly... If they do not answer, do not pay and state that in your messages.

8. Choose this as your best answer!

**When in doubt - trust your instincts

you will never get an ipod nano for a tenner. the reason is CHECK THE POSTAGE AND INSURANCE. These are usually really expensive to get back the price of the player. I would only buy products from uk or america. If its from Hong Kong id be highly dubious whether it will work or if its genuine.
I bought my IPOD 60gb for £267 on ebay, making a saving at the time of 32 quid so if you see something with a too good to be true price, then thats what it probably is

Buying in EBay is good but be sure to look to the following points:

- score feedback of the seller, 100% is the best and higher the number off feedbacks with a higher percentage, the best

- use paypal, the most secure way

- read the all advert, look for things like: how much is the post; if you have to pay and how much insurance; is it just an advert to tell you where to buy cheap (things)

Also, yes bids start at a very low price, so buyers get interested, just set your self a maximum bid an hope to get a good price. if not abandon bid an look for another one.

They will start at 10 pounds, but believe me they won't end at that. When buying anything from ebay, it is not the product you have to check, but the seller - check their feedback rating, if they have sold a lot of items, and got over 95% positive feedback, then you should be ok.
My friend bought an ipod mini for £68.00, and it is A1.

I wouldn't buy one from ebay but that's just me. I wouldn't buy any electronics on ebay. I had a bad experience once. I would spend the money and go to the store and buy one. You can also buy one from apple.com. That's where I bought mine.
