There are many:
January - New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Lunar New Year (celebrated in cities with large asian communities)
February: Valentine's Day, President's Day
March: Ash Wednesday (a religious holiday), St. Patrick's Day
April: Palm Sunday, Passover, Good Friday, Easter (these are all religious holidays)
May: Mother's Day, Memorial Day
June: Flag Day, Father's Day
July: Independence Day
August: no national holiday
September: Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah (a religious holiday)
October: Yom Kippur (a religious holiday), Columbus Day, Halloween
November: Veteren's Day, Thanksgiving
December: First Day of Hannukkah, Christmas (both are religious holidays), New Year's Eve
Many holidays are on a set date, like Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) or Christmas (Dec. 25). Others are not on a fixed date, but rather a fixed day, like Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday of November)
Plus there are many holidays that only certain cities or states recognize.
Hope this helps.
