employers treat employees?

No. On the contrary, I think it has had a slight effect making them realise that everybody is entitled to basic minimum standards.

The United Kingdom and other Western countries with minimum wages can never compee with low wage economies; but must instead be more efficient and productive. The United Kingdom is held back far more by its low productivity (largely the fault of poor middle management) than excessive wage costs. Anything that makes employers address productivity levels often forty per cent worse than our competitors is a good thing. Increases to meet minimum wage legislation are insignificant compared to these productivity issues.

No, it did however raise inflation. I don't think that employers are ever going to treat employees with the dignity and respect they deserve. If they did this would cease to be a capitol economy and then where would the rich people and politicians be?

Well you'll be able to find out for yourself if the Conservatives get into power, as one of their election promises is to scrap the NMW.
