It is recommended that whether they are boys or girls that you do not give them coordinating names. It is important twins have identities and develop as individuals and not just as half of a pair. No alliteration: Katie and Kimberly or Michael and Mickey. No rhyming: Mary and Terry or John and Ron. (And you should only dress them the same on rare, special occasions. Keep their clothing no more similar than you would other siblings.) If they are identical twins they will have a strong twin identity, never fear. They don't need uniformity crammed down their throats.

When I was in college there was a set of twins. Girls. l saw them walking down the sidewalk in identical suits, shoes, handbags, hairstyles. And walking in step.

How sad is that?
These gals had no identity other than being a twin.

Even twins are seperate people, and entitled to be treated as such.
There are fabulous names out there. I like:

Feminine:
Mercedes*Claire*Katherine*
Michelle*Laine*

Masculine:
Daniel*Matthew*Brian*
Christopher*Navarre*Rafael*

Good luck! Happy naming!

OK, I don't have any specific names for you to consider. However what I do ask you to consider is making sure that these names are both unique. Don's name one after your husband and call him (hubby's name) junior and the other some random name. This may cause very harmful feeling later in life. It may show a favoritism.

Also making sure they each have unique and different names will help them each to have their own personalities. Names that are too close to each other might cause some identity problems.

BTW for the record, I had twin sisters, and well the two problems above were very noticeable in my family and with in them. They struggled with them most of their childhoods.

I'm a twin - do your twins a favor and DON'T GIVE THEM CUTE MATCHING NAMES!!! When your twins grow up, they will want to have their own identity, and be recognized as unique. It's very much annoying to have people getting your names mixed up, so do them a favor - give them names completely different from each other's. Sara and Patrick if boy-girl, Katelyn and Alexis if girls, Jacob and Alex if boys.

Please, name then uniquely and independently. I am a twin, and my sister and I are strong advocates for twins being individuals. My mother named my sister, and my father named me. We have different names, different personalities, different likes and dislikes, but because we were never forced to be the same (or never really forced into the "cutesy twin matching" thing) we can be who we are as individuals and love the other for who they are.

try names within your family first but if you don't find any that are adequate there then try to search for names. Below is a good site that can give you thousands of names and their origins and meanings.
