If you did not have any injury to your tailbone and it was improving while you were not at the computer, then most likely your theory is correct. As was mentioned you probably have some bruising to your tailbone. You can get an x-ray to make sure it is not broken, but even if it is the treatment will be the same as for bruising. Until you are healed you should invest in a donut. You can buy one at most pharmacies and they are rather inexpensive. After you are healed I would suggest either purchasing a new chair or at least getting some sort of padding for the chair that you now have so you don't aggravate the injury.

You are going to have to sit on a pillow for a few more weeks, mine took about a month and a half to heal. You can fracture/break it very easy, just from sitting down to hard, or a fall of some kind, even giving birth.

Sweetheart dont ask questions like that on here. You might get answers you dont want to hear. I would say it was your chair or if you have taken a fall recently on you rump you might have fractured it and you cant do anything about that but live withe pain until it goes away. My suggestion is put a pillow under your rump or stand for a while. I hope you get a solution to your pain and have a blessed day...

See your physician. It could be your tailbone is fractured or bruised. There is generally nothing that can be done for it, however, sitting on a "dohnut" cushion will help relieve the pressure on your tailbone until it heals on it's own.

I would go and have this checked out. It may just be a bruise (I have done this before and it really hurts) but it is better to be safe than sorry. I do know that sitting on hard surfaces really aggravates this.
