Foreign aid prohibits economic growth in most countries and creates dependency. Their economy would probably fall a bit but start growing in a short matter of time. We should really keep the government out of giving foreign aid and leave it to private charities and NGO's they prove to be the most beneficial.
Recalling our troops from Iraq is a different story. We're the strongest force in Iraq right now, if we leave we open Iraq citizens up to possibly another Saddam. Once they work out the kinks in the system, and destroy the insurgents then they will be able to bring the troops back. I mean it would just ruin the whole point we went there for, oil. If we let another Saddam in power then we have no way of insuring we get the oil.The war in Iraq is definitely costing us a fortune.
The problem is we can't isolate ourselves but we're Increasingly becoming dependent on other countries for certain imports like cheap labor and oil. Which dependency is putting us between a rock and a hard place. Maybe we should research more on how we can be more independent then we are now.

America would become a third world country at best. China and Russias economies are already expanding rapidly and likely to overtake America in the near future. Unless America wakes up very soon and gets more involved and cooperative with its current partners and friends it will loose it's place as number one.
To opt out of what it is doing now! That would invite total disaster. It would at least deeply disappoint it's friends and severly weaken it's world standing.
America already faces war and terrorism on a number of fronts outside it's borders. Pulling back to within it's borders won't switch that off. America would be seen as on the run. Every terrorist group, anti American country and nutcase in the world would come loaded for bear. America cannot police the Mexican border let alone it's coastline. They would pour in.
Result thousands or perhaps even millions of dead Americans and a country in ruins.
A complete disaster scenario. Give up power and everyone rushes in to pick it up.
Sorry the only answer is to keep on in there and do what is right.

Violence would erupt almost everywhere. For certain in the middle east, probably in the east with either China or North Korea trying to throw their weight around. My guess is China. Regions of Africa already barely livable would completely collapse. Like it or not, be it military or politically or economically we are too important to the rest of the world. Remember the old adage, "If the world catches a cold, the U.S. gets the sniffles, if the U.S. gets a cold, the rest of the world gets pneumonia,"

We should've stayed out in the first place. Kinda like if you start a fire and everyone knows it, what are you gonna do ? Run ?
We're there now, gotta support the Iraqi's. Otherwise, we'll probably lose the respect of the world. And then, if OPEC got mad about it, we'd lose our economy.

This isn't going to happen. War is profitable. Although you will never hear any government admit this. War is about profit and loss to the country' s economy. Patriotism and all the rest of the sweet talk is window dressing.

Nothing will happen. Matter of fact, it'll settle back into mediocrity and joblessness as it did after the war in Viet Nam. Failure to forge ahead domestically, ethically does that yanno.

I can't say I would support that but I see your point. The rest of the world loves to condemn the US but when someone needs help we are the first on scene

Perfect, beautiful and lovely idea. I say we do it and let everyone else sort out their own problems. Maybe then the US can deal with everything wrong in its own borders.
