If you enable your music in iTunes to be shared, how can you find out who's connected? Is there a way to contact them via iTunes, or some other means (provided you just happen to be on a hotspot of some sort)?

Whether you're a Mac or PC user, you can find out who's connected and even what music they're listening to, but you can't contact them (not via iTunes anyway). If you're familiar with UNIX commands, you can use Terminal to send messages to people on the same network.

For Mac users:
Option 1: Start Terminal which is located in Applications > Utilities folder. Now type in (or copy and paste) this line without the quotes: "lsof -r 2 -n -P -F n -c iTunes -a -i TCP@`hostname`:3689" and hit return. Option 2: Download iTunes Monitor - it's an application that lets you view the required information. ( http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19869 )

I don't know how to find out who exactly is listening. I think you can only know how many people are listening. I guess you can look to the side of the screen and see who is connected to iTunes and guess who among them is listening to your music.

Pop is pop for a reason. music is one of those paintings, no longer each individual going to in straight forward words like a similar aspect, yet there is not any music that sucks, its purely diverse kinds. If each little thing became a similar, that'd be sort of uninteresting. pay interest to what you want to take heed to. there is no longer something incorrect with playing pop music. i recognize my justifiable percentage of dad.
