In the histoy of the universe, our existence and that of the Earth's represents a miniscule moment of time and so we are
comparatively a young planet. It is human arrogance to assume therefore that we represent the most advanced form of life that exists.

Our understanding of life and how it develops is based on our knowledge of mainly our own planet and that of our solar system which we can explore easily. Who's to say that life can not or hasn't developed outside the parameters we have set, after all, even on Earth there are creatures whose life is not based upon carbon but silicon (found that out from a nature programme some years ago).

So I believe that there is more intelligent life than us simply because there are billions of stars and systems older than us and even if only <1% had a chance to develop at all that still represents possible millions of planets.

Have they visited Earth? Difficult to answer this logically due to the theories of speed of light etc. However, 150 years ago you would have been locked if you said we could go to the moon, talk "through the air" on handheld boxes, have moving pictures on televisions etc. Something is only impossible until its done. If the warping of space/time is possible and the theory says it is then yes advanced civilisations could have solved this and visit the stars and the Earth. Just because the human race or scientists can't do something now doesn't mean it can't be done, again thats human arrogance.

Despite all the lurid description of the sighting of the Flying Saucers and the clever reinterpretation of some passages in the religious texts and artifacts found in the Egyptian graves it is doubtful if any of the exotic aliens exist. The odds against their being are so heavy that they even with their sophisticated technoligies like bending rays etc.do not appear to be genuine .SF writers and some lobbies in USA do insist that there have been landing of aliens but the matter is being kept in wraps by governments of the world.Even if habitable planets around distant starts have been identified and it has been also deduced that these eartg-like atmosphere prevail there it has not been able to establish contacts with them and they must necessarily be put down as infantile fantasies.

The first part of the question cannot realistically be answered, simply because we don't know.

Consensus is that the universe is too damned big for us to be the only form of life in it. Even if the probability of a planet sustaining life is one in a trillion, there *are* trillions - if not more - planets out there.

Consequently, the second part of the question is also unanswerable. If aliens exist, they may have come to Earth at any point in its 4.6 billion year history, and evidence of their arrival is quite probably nonexistant.

The chances that any of the planets in the galaxy capable of supporting life have actually done so is very small, around 10% may have done according to current theories.

That any of that life has evolved past simple bacteria is even smaller. That this life has become intelligent iseven smaller, that it is more advanced thatn us... even smaller. That it is advanced enough to travel through space is even smaller, and the chances that they will have appeared less than 1000 light years away, very, very small indeed. So the chance that aliens have visited the Earth is verging on the impossible.

Just remember how rare intelligent life is on Earth! It (humans) makes up less than 1% of all life on earth!

To assume that we are the only intelligent life forms in a universe thats probably almost infinite is the pinnacle of arrogance which probably gets it's roots from western religion even though such religions never ruled such possibilities out. Also it is not unreasonable to assume that such lifeforms may at some point it the past or present managed to traverse the long distance and investigated our civilisation without us knowing about it. Perhaps the reasons for which they would have not revealed themselves lie in the fact that such a revelation would cause great upheaval in our civilisation.

Yes, angels and genes are the aliens. They are not from this planets. But until now nobody knows their origin in the space but very often they do come to us and some are living with us !

I think so...the size of the universe is vast and it would be wrong and short-sighted to think otherwise......Many people claim to have seen unusual craft and who is to say they did'nt. It is quite possible that most of the sightings are merely probes, sent out in just the same way that we now have remotely piloted aircraft using cameras over a battlefield...let's face it, with all the fighting that goes on down here, would land to say hello, I'm from another planet.....I think not...

In all of the universe (time and space) many other planets will have evolved life upon them. Highly unlikely that in the brief moment we have on Earth that we will ever find out. If you would like a more detailed explanation of my opinion on this subject, please see my 360 blog (link in profile).

Given that space is infinite surely no matter how remote the chance the conditions for life is highly likely however "it's life Jim but not as we know it" is the phrase that suits as it's unlikely to be anything like us and I think because of the vastness of space we are unlikely to ever meet it.

If aliens have the technology to travel hundreds of light years across space. They won't pussyfoot around, they'll just zap the lot of use!
