Ingrowing hairs are caused by the skin being dry. Our body produces new skin cells all the time. Some times these skin cells hang around on the surface of the skin ,and block the hair follicle. The hair has no other choice than to grow underneath the skin's surface thus causing an ingrowing hair, and even trapping bacteria which turns pustular and causes a bump.....
Waxing can aggravate it if, your friend is prone to ingrowing hairs, she could stick to shaving. First she should exfoliate her legs thoroughly prior to shaving, then shave using a good razor ( i like the Venus razors ),and shaving foam. And moisturise her legs daily, and this should prevent them all together. Hope this helps (",)

My suggestion would be not to press so hard when shaving and use a slicker shave gel like that Gillette Turbo shave gel. it's slippery and usually doesn't cause and razor bumps or irritation. I'm a man who gets alot of ingrown hairs on my neck and face when i shave. And this stuff has worked for me.

Have a girls night in but no booze, you'll need steady hands and a magnifying glass. You get a needle and you find the spot where the hair goes back into the skin. You gently slide the needle under the hair and pull it loose. It doesn't hurt at all if you do it right. Sometimes they grow really long, so don't be surprised. She won't be able to reach the ones round the back so be a good mate...

Hiya honey, it's good your trying to help your mate.
Tell her to exfoliate her legs and use a loofah to remove the dead skin (that can block hairs)
Waxing won't help as this softens the hairs making it harder for them to push through the skin.
Tea Tree can also help the hairs draw the hairs out and can prevent hair follicules becoming infected.
This may take months to resolve and unfortunately once you have them they are very difficult to get rid of.

Yes, wax is the best idea, if you really have ingrown hairs then your skin may turn red and irritated and stuff.

Exfoliate and moisturise! It will take time but it will work. Also, try, VERY GENTLY, tweezing the hairs out of the skin - but be warned, it can scar.

get skin doctor 'ingrow go' from www.beautyflash.co.uk online. using a loofah and body brushing also helps. tea tree oil can reduce inflammation. Australian Bodycare tea tree body lotion also from beautyflash is good as a moisturiser.

Dunno how to get rid of them but i think i know how to stop them.
When shaving always make sure the razor is sharp, use a shaving gel (or normal hair conditioner works well) and exfoliate and moisturise the skin between shaves.
Wish her luck x
