If you're 20 and the guy is 35, then age matters because it will be hard. I know, I used to date guys 10-20 years older then me in my early twenties. I'm now 28 and my husband is 36 - 8 years difference, which works out great for both of us. I think the older you get, the less age difference matters. If you're 40 and you're dating a 55 year old, it's fine because you've both experienced a lot of life. But if you're on the young side and your man is 40+ - there will definitely be problems.

If it is two consenting adults, then no, age does not matter at all. I am 42 years old and am involved with a 32 year old male. As soon as I can I will marry him without a second thought.

yes age does matter.if you marriy a person under the age of 25 and you are over thirty it wont work out, because you wont have anything in common. i know it may seem like you do but keep the relationship going for more than two years and see it if it works out, dont get married because you think it is working out and you are having so much fun and it is love and then next thing you know you are breaking up in divorce, the honeymoon stage is one to two years. so of scourse it is going to work out for those years but after that will it last , i dont think so.good luck.
