Try to redesign something ! Find something you don't really use but still like and make it into something else. Use your favorite shirt to cover an existing pillow or stuff it with old pantyhose or an old foam pillow or chair pad and sew the openings closed. It will be one of a kind and also keep the memories alive of what made the shirt so special. Paint your room and decorate it in your style. Redo a lamp by painting the base and covering the shade with beads, fun yarns, fake furs, etc. Bracelets, earrings and old pins make a cheap source for the beads if you can't get to a store. An old stuffed animal can be the source for the fur but you will probably need to wash and dry it before using it. Use the stuffing from the animal for a pillow or if it is too small make a neck pillow or a narrow pillow for your parents lower back when they are driving or if they sit for a long time at their job. Use the old imagination and you can do many things with a little glue, needle and thread, scissors, and found stuff from the attic or storage, or look through you clothes. I make Jean purses and decorate them and I am always coming up with ideas to keep busy with since I became disabled and my days seemed to get soooo long!. Cover a photo book with your jeans (use a pocket to glue to the front to hold ticket stubs, or sovenirs) and glue it together. Use paperclips or clothes pins to hold it in place until it dries. Decorate it with personal stuff that you don't use anymore or leave it plain.Use up every part of the jeans by making a change purse, cover a lamp, make a pillow, make small shapes and attach them with glue to a set of earrings that you don't use, make armbands or bracelets and decorate them for your friends. The pockets are fun small purses for little girls, just stitch or tie a ribbon or a long strip of the denim for a handle, and tie a ribbon bow on the front or sides to make it girlie! People, especially little girs, like homemade items because it shows that you were thinking of them and doing it just for them! Make each day a memory and summer will fly by!
