Sometimes you're local news will give an opinion but never national news. You know the world could probably be a better place if newsreporters gave their opinions on events that are bad! It would open up the conscious of people around the world who watch the news. For example, a newsreporter would say after her topic on a death. "When is it all going to end Bob? People need to stop all this nonsense. It's a shame the kind of bad things that happen all the time, we need to start trying to do something about it, Bob! Bob says, "Barbara, I totally agree with you it's a shame what goes on in the world today with the killings, rapes , kidnappings, etc." That right there is how newsreporters should be in my opinion. It would open up the conscious of people. Why newsreporters don't do this style of newsreporting?

Because news reporters are supposed to do just that - report the news - not ad lib on what they think should or shouldn't have happened. They are supposed to be completely impartial and unbiased. And I think the most of them do a darn good job at it too.

a true news reporter should be fair and impartial, simply telling you the news as bare facts and letting you form your own option. If it's otherwise, the news is just political spin. And the reporters head down that slippery slope of only reporting the news they like and fits with their worldview. And there is enough of that in the news already.

On cable news, after 8pm, they have the news commentators come on....they don't report the news, they give their comments on it.

You know i got threw the 1st sentence of this answer but this answer is simple they are only there to give you the news not comment on it. It is suppose to be a biasted opinion. To many people take other opinions and believe it instead of thinking for their selves and coming up with there own opinion.

News reporters are paid to report the news not comment on it. Comentators comment on it, and if you're dumb enough to need a commentator to tell you how you should think, then you shouldn't be watching the news in the first place.

I think there is too much opinion being given by news people!

I think it is better for them to just tell the news without putting in their opinions. Their jobs don't include 'conscious-raising.'

It depends on which news station you are watching. I think it's mostly talk news shows that give their opinions on events, but not really reporters. Reporters are only there to report what is happening, not give an opinion on it.

News anchors don't give their opinions on news matters because it wouldn't be professional. They are reporters and their opinions are immaterial to most. Viewers want the facts and just the facts so they can judge for theirselves. They don't want others making up their minds for them.
