I live on a beautiful stretch of beach on the Northwest coast. Every 4th of July this area attracts literally thousands of tourists. Supposedly they come here to celebrate the birth of our great nation.

What I don't understand is: why do they leave behind such a terrible mess? It seems kind of silly to celebrate your love for America by finding the most gorgeous spot you can, then defiling it with exploding trash.

If these people really love their country, shouldn't they pick up after themselves? It doesn't seem like too much to ask.

I so totally agree with you. I hate it when people go out and throw their trash around. They wouldn't do that at home! I've taught my kids that we *always* pick up after ourselves. Sometimes we're the only ones who throw away our cups at the movies, and the kids question this, but it's just nasty to not.

Here's wishes for a happy (and clean) Fourth,
~Tia~

We always clean up after ourselves wither or not its the 4th of July, We believe in setting a good example for our children so they will hopefully do the same while they are alive.
Have a Happy 4th of July
And yes they should clean up after themselves while visiting another state, however the people that are getting paid for cleaning up the streets are probably thanking those that don't clean up after themselves because it takes all kinds and someone is getting money to clean and that takes care of their family. Just a thought not a belief.
however people really need to learn not to liter.

I won't be making a mess. If I light anything off, it's picked up right away. Heck, gotta smell my redneck neighbors trash because they leave it by their front door. Don't know how they can sit outside on a hot day smelling trash.
But they are Proud Americans. A lot of my neighbors do that. Could be laziness is the answer to your question.

Is it time for a "chain-saw massacre?" Come On... You can tell me. Let me know about your plans for this unabated villainy! Time for a few well-placed "bottle-rockets" of your own, eh? That'll show 'em! Take back your country, Stewart! - VAULT! Get to it!
